BTW, that includes completing two Master's degrees (MA- U. I'd also be happy to send you my 14 page resume if you'd like, not a single line of which was achieved without detectable traces of THC in my system. Where I live, the hardest working and most honorable people I know wake and bake. One last point: the "pot smokers are too lazy to show up to vote" bullshit meme is getting real old. Many of us in the medical cannabis arena believe this would be the fastest way to accomplish much-needed reforms. It would also sublimate social control for science, common sense and compassion. It would also show respect for the intelligence and hard work of those two DEA ALJs.

These reversals would get the brown-shirted "drug worriers" out of the land piracy and shuttle-'em-off-to-the-prison-farm businesses. If AG Holder stated that, upon further review, the recommendations of these two DEA administrative law judges were accepted - the entire ballgame would change and it would change without the need to involve Congress or the Supreme Court. This petition, which would have broken the 40 year NIDA monopoly on conducting (sic) cannabis research, was supported by Judge Bittner, but again was overruled by the DEA administrator for the most bogus of reasons. Massachusetts) to allow him to grow research-grade cannabis and study its properties in a variety of ways. More recently, another DEA Administrative Law Judge (Mary Ellen Bittner) conducted a thorough review of a petition from Professor Lyle Craker (U. Despite this two year review and Judge Young's strong written opinion, the DEA administrator rejected his recommendation. In the first review (which lasted over two years), DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis Young recommended that marijuana be removed from Schedule 1 and placed in a more appropriate category (I believe Young recommended 3 - I would say 3 or 4). Over the past 20 years, there have been two in-depth assessments of the status quo within the DEA itself. But I just think it would be a good idea.ġ. I believe it would be good policy to do so, not just good politics. Trust me, I've been around plenty of pot heads (then again Im here posting on DU, thats a given). If people that support legalization believed there was a real chance to make a difference at the polls they would take an hour or 2 out of their day to go and vote. If the legalize pot bill was introduced early next year the debate would drag on all year in to the elections. What would happen is the republicans would come out strongly against this, same way they did against healthcare. Just an edit after a few minutes of this thread being up: I think some of you guys really underestimate pot heads. So why don't the democrats come out early next year with a bill to legalize pot? What better way to get the young people that elected Obama off their ass and in to the polls? Not to mention the majority of Americans support this. Meanwhile the teabaggers are as pissed off as ever. The next time you find yourself reaching into your pocket only to realize it isn't there, at least you'll be able to maintain a tiny bit of sanity. One of the biggest problems the democrats will have in 2010 is that their base simply doesn't care.

This is a reminder to back up your phone. If we lose our phones, there goes our carefully selected and edited collection of photos for future Instagram posts (darn!), our long list of contacts and the to-do list's, and reminders we type out for ourselves on the notes app. We have our whole life on those things! If you think about it, it's crazy how much we rely on technology for our own self-preservation. The momentary mini heart attacks we have when we can't find our phones are too much to handle mostly because the thought of losing our phones is terrifying. Nope, it's not in your pocket, not in your bag, where, oh where could it be? What's scarier than walking through a spiderweb? Or completely blanking on a math test? That's right! It's the feeling you get when you reach into your pocket in hopes of checking your phone and realizing that your phone is nowhere to be found.
